Australia Pacific LNG project - application for proposed change to a condition of the project

Closed 14 Dec 2018

Opened 26 Oct 2018

Overview

Queensland's Coordinator-General invites you to have your say on an application for a proposed project change to a condition for the Australia Pacific LNG project.

The proposed change would:

  • retain two temporary workers' accommodation facilites (TWAFs) in the Maranoa Regional Council local government area for the duration of the project (approximately 20 years). These TWAFs have a combined total of 655 beds
  • remove the requirement for TWAFs to not remain in position following their use
  • remove the requirement for TWAFs to not be constructed on land identified as good quality agricultural land categories A and B as described in the former State Planning Policy.

The Reedy Creek TWAF is located approximately 60 kilometres (in a direct line) north-east of Roma and approximately 30 kilometres (in a direct line) north of Wallumbilla and Yuleba. The Bungaroo TWAF is located approximately 75 kilometres (in a direct line) north-east of Roma, 40 kilometres north of Wallumbilla and 30 kilometres north of Yuleba (in a direct line).

The Coordinator-General imposed a condition, in the November 2010 report on the APLNG project’s environmental impact statement, to require that the facilities be in place for no longer than five years.
