Overview

Please read the following information as it will assist you in completing your application.

The Manufacturing Hubs Grant Program (MHGP) offers grants up to $1 million to established regional Queensland manufacturers, particularly small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector, on their journey to Advanced Manufacturing - Industry 4.0. The MHGP is not available to start-up businesses or partnerships.

An applicant must meet the Eligible Business Criteria, and all applications will be reviewed for eligibility by the receiving Manufacturing Hub prior to formal submission to an independent panel of three (3) Senior Officers within the Department.

Each application will then be reviewed and assessed by the independent panel against the Assessment Criteria and recommended for approval or rejection by the Deputy Director-General, Manufacturing, Industry and Regions, DSDMIP.

The MHGP is a Queensland Government initiative to grow Queensland’s manufacturing capabilities through supporting SMEs in the manufacturing sector to take up key capability building measures and pursue national and global supply chain opportunities.

To support you in completing your application, we recommend you read the respective Queensland Advanced Manufacturing 10-year Roadmap and Action Plan and the Manufacturing Hub Delivery Model for the manufacturing sector. Each hub has key focus industries:

  • Cairns – marine, aviation and food processing
  • Townsville – advanced metal production and food transformation
  • Rockhampton – rail manufacturing and technology, advanced metal production and food product innovation.

In addition to completing your application, you will be required to upload additional documentation as outlined in the Program Guidelines with prompts for this information included throughout this application form.

In-progress applications can be saved and returned to later; however, please note you must complete all required fields on a page prior to saving your form.

Your application will be subject to an assessment process and you will be notified of the outcome of your assessment in accordance with the Program Guidelines.

Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee success or receipt of a grant or funding under this program.

Applicants can submit multiple applications for funding under each funding level. An application may include multiple Eligible Activities for the same project.

Sections 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9 are mandatory per application. Please complete Sections 4, 5, 6, and 7 as relevant in support of your application(s).

Any plans, drawings or imagery can be provided as an attachment to the application.

A list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) will be available once the MHGP opens to assist with preparation of applications.

Questions and responses to questions asked after the MHGP will be added to the FAQs. The Department may in its discretion determine not to publish questions and responses where they are application specific or do not have general application. Applicants should check the FAQs for updates prior to submitting their application.
